I love Texas, but I hate it's politics sometimes.
I was born in Texas and most of my family is from there. It's my home just as much as Washington state is. Sometimes I get homesick for it. I love the beauty of nature there, being up in the mountains with my grandparents, having barbeques with them, riding my grandpa's tractor, riding horses (even if I'm not great at it), going to the lake or the Rio Grande with my aunt and uncle and cousins, seeing the Alamo (Grandpa told me that I had seen the Alamo when I was a baby and when I said to him that I didn't remember it, he took me to it so I could remember it and made a lot of jokes about the movie Remember The Alamo), etc. etc. etc.
But when I heard about the shit that happens between there and Arizona sometimes (moreso Arizona, which I have fond memories of there as well and it's also where my dad is from) it sorta breaks my heart. I don't agree with it at all and it sucks to hear that a state/states I love are pulling dumb shit like that. Especially when all I'll hear sometimes if I say I'm from Texas is what a hillbilly inbred hellhole it is cuz of that crap.
Trust me. I don't agree with hyper conversatism either. I'm not, nor do I wanna, pretend that everything is always sunshine and rainbows. But it still hurts, you know? I dunno, does this make sense at all? Or am I being whiny and entitled like LEAVE TEXAS ALONE IT IS THE MOST PERFECT STATE EVER WAHHH? I'm not quite sure if I'm saying what I wanna say correctly here.
