hey hey check out the dreamwidth newbie
Dec. 22nd, 2011 12:35 amHey everybody!
This is my first post to DreamWidth... basically ever. I'm here because of that whole ~great migration~ from LiveJournal to here or whatever you wanna call it. To be honest, this is more of an experiment for me. And a chance to have a cool new personal blogging journal, but mainly an experiment/me messing around. I'm part of the LJ RP crowd so I'm wondering to anyone who'd know the answer to some questions I got:
1) Since it's this week only that lets us make accounts without invitations, if I make roleplay accounts do I need to make them RIGHT NOW or since I already have this personal account can I hold off on it?
I ask because I'm kind of just kicking back and waiting to see what happens to my LJ RPs. Whether they decide to pack up and move to somewhere else, where LiveJournal actually gives us the option to go back to the old, workable layout (though I'm apprehensive on that one), etc. I don't 100% understand Dreamwidth invitations yet. I know I could make my RP journals NOW just in case, but is it possible for me to just kick back and wait and see what happens WITHOUT making all my other accounts? Or is it dire that I take advantage of the situation right now?
2) Outta curiousity, to the LJ RPers out there reading this (hi buddies) why are most people choosing Dreamwidth over places like InsaneJournal? I got nothing against Dreamwidth, nor do I Insanejournal, which is why this is honestly just a curiousity question. Is it more than just the name? I heard some good things about IJ, like you get more iconspace for free (correct me if I'm wrong), so that's why I wanna know. Why Dreamwidth over any other place?
I already asked these questions, along with a bunch of other questions, over plurk but. Whatever, I figure I'll cover more ground this way. Doesn't hurt, right?
Other than that, uhhh. I dunno what else to say! I'm Amy and I'm big into movies, photography, and video games. Which is what's gonna get talked about a lot on here. Especially the video games. Anyone who's following me here from plurk can testify.
Speaking of that, HI GUYS.
EDIT: OH YEAH. I forgot, I'm importing journals over here from my personal LiveJournal account. I have no idea how importing works here yet so if a flood of anything happens, uh. MY BAD, THAT'S ME.
